Palm cooling extends endurance in heat
In treadmill trials at 40°C, palm cooling alone extended exercise duration by about 15% compared to no cooling. Participants kept walking on an incline several minutes longer before exhaustion.
Cool your palms for 1–3 minutes between sets. Muscles shed heat, fatigue is delayed, get more reps in the same workout.
“I cool my palms between rounds and my last set finally looks like my first. I'm getting real work in at the end of a session instead of just surviving it.”

“Best option under $1k. I can squeeze a few more reps out where I couldn't before.”
Strength athletes rarely fail because the muscle ran out. They fail because the muscle got too hot. Heat pulls the brakes on output long before you run out of strength.
Hold the cold surface in a relaxed palm during your normal rest period. Your body sheds heat through the blood vessels in your palm, so output stays higher when it usually fades. Pro athletes in the NBA, NHL, MMA and NFL use palm cooling.

“I’ve been using cryo after long runs, and it lets me push further without overheating.”
ENDURANCE RUNNING
“This makes a difference between being completely cooked on my heavy sets or being able to push for more reps or a personal best. It's not a massive difference, but it's measurable.”
HEAVY SQUATS
“Using cryo between bench sets helps me fight fatigue and get more reps, especially in sets 3, 4, and 5.”
WEIGHT TRAINING
“What changes is the overheated, foggy feeling. I start the next match clearer.”
MATCH PERFORMANCE
Palm cooling has been studied in athletes and lab settings for two decades. Here is what the research found.
In treadmill trials at 40°C, palm cooling alone extended exercise duration by about 15% compared to no cooling. Participants kept walking on an incline several minutes longer before exhaustion.
Over a 10-week resistance program, people who cooled their palms between sets completed 40% more bench press work than controls. Pull-up volume grew 144% and one-rep max rose 22%.
An NFL tight end completed 103 dips across five sets without cooling. With cooling between sets, the same session produced 198 dips. After four weeks of training with cooling he reached 310 dips per workout.
