Palm cooling forHeat stress

Cool down on the sideline, on the course or on the job before heat stress takes over — no ice, no water, no setup.

“It really helps me cool down on the golf course. When I get to the 18th hole, I feel more refreshed than the other guys in my party.”

Why it works

Heat changes how your body performs.

The problem

Heat limits how long you can keep going

As your body heats up, fatigue speeds up. You get foggy, coordination slips, and pacing and hydration start to break down. That is when people push through when they shouldn't, especially kids and older athletes.

The physiology

Your body runs out of ways to shed heat

  • Core temperature keeps climbing
  • Heart rate rises to move blood to the skin
  • Focus and coordination drop off
What cooling does

Palm cooling helps control heat buildup

Used on the sideline between games, sets or innings, palm cooling pulls heat directly from the blood. Core temperature starts to drop and your body's own cooling systems work better.

  • Less overheated between games
  • More energy late in long sessions
  • Better tolerance to hot conditions

What the research shows

Heat stress is well documented in occupational and sports research. Here is what the data shows.

An outdoor worker in the heat
Han et al., 2024

Heat stress cuts worker productivity

A meta-analysis of ~2,400 construction workers found that once wet-bulb globe temperature passed 28°C, about 60% of workers showed reduced productivity: slower work, more breaks, unfinished workloads.

Burgess et al., 2012

Active cooling speeds recovery

In live-fire drills, firefighters who used active cooling during rehab dropped their core temperature and returned to a normal heart rate faster than those who only rested.

Nagashima et al., 2025

Outdoor athletes are at real risk

A study of amateur golfers found a high risk of heat exhaustion in hot, humid conditions, with elevated heart rates, dizziness and reduced performance when rest and cooling were limited.

performance note

Designed for controlled conditions—not extreme heat

Cryo-1 relies on the surrounding air to cool effectively. For best performance, use it indoors or in moderate ambient conditions. Above 80°F, cooling performance and duration can decline significantly, and maximum performance should not be expected.
